Zahyr Lauren aka The Artist L.Haz
Visual artist, advocate, and podcast host
“What I feel and what I know is that the truth will inform the love, and the love must inform the action.”
Zahyr Lauren, aka The Artist L.Haz, is a practitioner of art-based modalities for healing and restoration. Their work includes paintings, public art, installations, textiles, and public talks, all guided by the goal of building towards a more just and equitable society.
Their creations are a dedication to the resilience, brilliance and beauty of their Black family, and to the shared humanity that has us all struggling – and triumphing – together.
Their hope for The Solidarity Index is to create a sense that we’re all related, that we share parallel struggles, that those struggles are being addressed in creative ways, and that the life of the planet depends on us acting in solidarity against oppression around the world.
You can learn more about Zahyr’s powerful story of family, frontline work, and finding new life as a self-taught artist in Season 1 Episode 4.
